iResearch

Mater Research, in partnership with Mater Education, is pleased to present the 2017 iResearch course.

This course is aimed at novice researchers who wish to develop a study protocol addressing a clinical research question of their choice.

Topics covered include: 

  • developing a research question 
  • effective literature searching
  • research design 
  • ethical considerations
  • sample size calculations 
  • data management plans.

All participants require Head of Department to approve their research project.

Once you have been accepted by Mater Research, you will be invited to register through MoVES where all course material will be available. Registrants are required to attend each of the 4 main sessions. The course culminates in Mater’s 3-Minute Thesis competition in which iResearch participants present their research questions to peers and facilitators.

In order to successfully complete this course and receive a certificate of completion students will be required to present a three minute thesis presentation and acquire compliance approval for their project.

This course is available for Mater People only. 

Duration

The course will comprise of two four-hour workshops delivered over a two month period. Optional study sessions will also be available on certain topics. Participants will have ongoing access to Mater Research staff and research mentors.
