Five minutes with Emma Taylor: Diploma of Nursing educator

News

Emma Taylor thrives on sharing her experience with the next generation of healthcare heroes.

But she almost didn't choose a nursing pathway.

"I came from a working-class family and further study wasn't something that was really encouraged," Emma said.

"It took me seven years to actually start my nursing study, my self-confidence held me back."

Despite this, Emma did complete her nursing degree and midwifery studies and worked in both fields for more than 20 years

Now she is Lead Educator with Mater Education training the future generation in Semester 3 of the Diploma of Nursing.

"I love providing that confidence boost for students who may not have considered nursing as an option at school.”
