Cailin pursues excellence in health
Cailin Sinclair began her journey into the Health industry in Year 10, through enrolment into Mater Education's Vocational Education and Training in Schools (VETiS) program at her Fairholme school, studying a Certificate II in Health Services Support, followed by a Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance. It was throughout this pathway program that Cailin had the opportunity to complete practical placement at AEIOU, the Rehabilitation ward at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Toowoomba, as well as within the Mater Hospital, Brisbane simulated wards.
At the end of Year 12, Cailin was the recipient of the Mater Education Pursuit of Health Excellence award. This award recognises a Year 12 student who has completed study with Mater Education, demonstrating an outstanding attitude, independence and self-motivated learning. Cailin's commitment to continual improvement through participation in her health programs led her to demonstrate excellent employability skills in the workplace.
Cailin is planning to specialise in Occupational Therapy and has gained early entry into a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at the University of Sunshine Coast (USC) but has since has accepted a full-time position as an Allied Health Therapy Assistant, at Bailey Henderson and Toowoomba Base Hospital.
We're proud to play a part in inspiring the next generation of healthcare workers and we can't wait to see where Cailin's healthcare career takes her!
