New wave of graduate enrolled nurses join Mater

News

A new wave of graduate enrolled nurses have joined the healthcare workforce at Mater hospitals across Queensland.

The newly qualified nurses have kickstarted their careers through the industry renowned Mater Enrolled Nurse Graduate Program.

Open only to enrolled nurses trained through Mater Education’s Diploma of Nursing, the program has two intakes each year and provides the perfect transition from student to healthcare practitioner.

As they embark on the 12-month long program, our graduate nurses will gain diverse skills and provide safe and comprehensive care for patients across a wide range of clinical settings.

With guidance from experienced nurses, nurse managers, education coordinators and clinical supervisors, the newly qualified nurses will be encouraged to foster their professional growth and development in a secure and supportive environment.

All graduate nurses in the program have been offered permanent employment, allowing them to build rewarding healthcare careers with Mater beyond their introductory year.

Mater Education is a nationally-accredited, hospital-based independent Registered Training Organisation – the only one of its kind in Queensland. Our hands-on training ensures our studentgraduate job-ready, with the practical skills and knowledge they need to lead successful healthcare careers.

Not only can our Diploma of Nursing students hit the ground running as enrolled nurses in the healthcare workforce, but they can also upskill as registered nurses at university, allowing them to earn a Bachelor of Nursing in just two years at most universities.
