Learning opportunity led to a new job for Anna

News

After two years of working in the pharmacy industry, Anna decided to transition to the world of medical administration, choosing Mater Education to help upskill and prepare her for a career path change.

“I chose to study the Medical Administration course because my previous job as a pharmacy stock controller already involved a lot of administration-based work. I thought the course would be a great starting point to learn a bit more about the medical administration world – which it was – and it just so happened to also lead into a great job opportunity for me.”

“With the encouragement of my educator, Jan, I gained a job as a medical administrator for The Eye Health Centre shortly after completing the course.”

“As a medical receptionist at The Eye Health Centre I perform a range of tasks throughout the day including booking patient appointments, monitoring incoming referrals and correspondence between doctors, creating patient charts and a multitude of other activities. It's a very busy specialist clinic which I really enjoy.”

“Being in the medical industry is important to me as I feel as though I'm able to help deliver care to people who need it. It's just a nice feeling to know you're helping people in a genuine way.”

You too can open up a world of opportunity by joining the healthcare workforce. Find out more about our four-day, Medical Administration course here.
